Art After the Holocaust?
Following the horrific events of the Second World War, Adorno declared that there can be no real history. For Adorno, the Holocaust was so monstrous that it defies any attempt to represent or comprehend it. He believed that after this event the representation of history always seems inadequate. Art, too, is rendered useless and, therefore, perverse in the face of the Holocaust.
